The first issue for 2016 of the DESS Bulletin was posted to all members on 1 February. It has among other things a long article by Bo Haufman on the career of Tyree Glenn including information on his recordings and a reprint of Irving Townsend’s very personal remembrance of Duke Ellington originally published in the Atlantic Monthly in 1975.In this issue there is also, a report from the 23:e Duke Ellington Study Group Conference i Portland in November last year and much more.
Three more issues of the Bulletin, which is available only to members of DESS, will be published this year on the following dates:
N:o 2 – 18 April, N:o 3 – 12 September, N:o 4 – 21 November
From this year, the membership fee for people living outside Sweden has been reduced to $ 40 and it is possible to subscribe to the digital version of the Bulletin for only $ 30.
