Benny Åslund was invited as a guest of honor to a meeting of TDES, where he talked about himself and his work. He also gave the TDES members the opportunity to hear some Ellington music they hadn’t heard before.

In issue 1982:1, the DEMS Bulletin published a report by Jerry Valburn of the meeting and the text of the speech of Don Miller at one of the lunches.
